While teaching at Wesley College in Auckland Chris Grinter was
instrumental in launching the rugby career of Jonah Lomu.
Jonah, who originally played Rugby League was first spotted by Chris
playing basketball, and introduced him to rugby.
Lomu’s achievements: New Zealand Under-16's, New Zealand Under-
17's, New Zealand Secondary Schools, New Zealand Under-19s, New Zealand
Under-21s, Counties, Wellington, North Harbour, Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes,
Cardiff Blues, NZ Sevens, New Zealand All Blacks.
"There definitely would have been a totally different story if it wasn't for
rugby and Chris Grinter -- there wouldn't have been a Jonah," Lomu said.

In 2003 Jason Blake represented New
Zealand against the Australian Gridiron team
at Eden Park in Auckland.
