In February this year (2001) Ngaruawahia Igelese approached our school last year and
High School and Te Wharakura Rakaumanga asked if we would like to participate in this
combined to take part in a celebration festival of pageant. The pageant was to predict the journey of
performance and music under the guidance of the Pacific Island people from their various islands
Igelese Ete. to New Zealand and their settling into this country.
